This is a curated list of Home Assistant integrations, components, and community resources specifically relevant for people living in Israel or observing Jewish traditions. While Home Assistant has thousands of integrations, finding ones tailored to Israeli infrastructure or Jewish religious observance can be difficult. This list brings them together.
Israel-Specific Integrations
These components are built for day-to-day life in Israel, from emergency alerts to weather and school schedules.
Red Alert (Tzeva Adom) integrations:
RedAlert -- Available from HACS. Creates configurable sensors for Red Alert warnings that can drive automations.
Oref Alert -- Also available from HACS. Provides binary sensors, area-specific alerts, and includes a testing sensor so you can verify your configuration without waiting for a real alert.
Other Israel-specific components:
Israel Meteorological Service (IMS) Weather Sensor -- Integrates with Israel's national weather provider for localized forecasts and conditions.
Israeli School Vacation Days -- Sensor that checks whether it's a day off from school according to Israel's school calendar. Useful for morning routine automations.
Electra Air Conditioner Integration -- Custom component for Electra branded air conditioners, which are common in Israeli homes.
Jewish Religious Observance Integrations
These integrations are useful for anyone observing Shabbat, Jewish holidays, or wanting to track the Jewish calendar through their smart home.
Jewish Sabbaths and Holidays -- An incredibly helpful HACS integration using the HebCal API to expose Shabbat candle lighting times, havdalah times, Yom Tov dates, and religious observance periods as sensors. This is the foundation for Shabbat automations like turning off lights before Shabbat or activating a Shabbat mode.
Jewish Calendar (built-in) -- Home Assistant ships with a built-in Jewish Calendar integration providing sensors for the weekly Torah portion (Parashat HaShavua), the Omer count, and even the Daf Yomi.
Molad Sensor -- Exposes the Molad (new moon) and Rosh Chodesh times as sensors in Home Assistant.
